Private Practice
October 2002 – Present
Have worked with clients to successfully improve self-esteem, tackle career and lifestyle goals, eliminate migraines, lose weight, lower cholesterol, reduce sweet cravings naturally, begin cooking whole foods, reduce stress, improve relationships, and much more.
Presenter/Speaker
Develop and present wellness seminars for various companies and organizations. As a partner with The Employee Development Center, a division of Weill Medical College at Cornell University, I have taught staff members of area universities and hospitals how to eliminate hydrogenated oils (trans-fatty acids), replace unhealthy processed foods for tasteful whole foods, understand the difference between complex and simple carbohydrates and have fun doing it. I have also lead master classes for dancers at Broadway Dance Center. As a result of the program, a number of dancers have improved their diets and body image, sought help for eating disorders, and lost weight.
Cooking Specialist
Imparting healthy recipes and cooking to middle school aged kids in the public school system through the Virtual YMCA After-School Program. I have taught children how to make simple healthy meals from food they can buy at their local grocery store. Kids are learning how to make whole grains, vegetable dishes, and turn old unhealthy recipes into exciting, tasty, healthful recipes.
Private Cooking Instructor
I hold regular cooking classes for adults on how to cook tasteful, healthy meals at home. They leave cooking classes with hands on training and confidence to quickly prepare simple meals that are packed with nutrients. Clients are beginning to cook more at home as a result of these classes.
Writer/Publisher
I have written a number of articles on nutrition, healthy lifestyle choices, body image, and proactively setting and keeping life goals. I also produce print and e-newsletters for Fitness Results, Embora Wellness and Movement Studio, and the Bronx Dental Society. I write a regular weekly newsletter for my own practice that is read by men and women all over New York City and other parts of the U. S. Individuals are inspired to make changes, incorporate healthy tips, and improve their sense of well-being. I have been published in The Epoch Times, and online at Tana's Habitat.
Consultant
I provide my expertise on wellness by contributing to after-school curriculum designed by Family Cook Productions. I also consult with restaurants on developing healthy, delicious, whole foods recipes.
Misc. Skill/Training
Former audio post-production engineer, concert coordinator, record label tour support, and a lifetime lover of dance (jazzfunk, ballet, salsa)!
