1. Self-Betrayal

Dictionary.com says that betrayal is a violation of trust.

Betray: To deliver into the hands of an enemy in
violation of a trust or allegience
.

Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary says that to
betray is to not be loyal to a person, often by doing
something harmful such as helping their enemies.

How do you betray yourself?  How do you align yourself
with your "enemy?"

How many times have you looked at yourself in the mirror
and been disgusted with some aspect of your looks?

Not only were you disgusted, but your day continued on
with the negative self-talk in your head.

What about when someone has reacted negatively to you,
and then you spent countless hours berating yourself based
on that person's behavior or unacceptance of you?

*What about smiling when you are angry?

There are more:

Doing something or not doing something that sabotages
your health goals.
(betraying a promise or dream you have
for yourself)

Engaging in destructive behaviors, perhaps it's unsafe sex
(emotionally or physically), drug use, or excessive drinking.

Being inauthentic: feeling one thing, but saying or doing
another.

You should be your most trusted ally.  You should stand
by yourself when others may not.

You would never stand for a friend saying the things to  you
that you say to yourself.

Ane when you mess up, treat yourself like a supportive friend.

Spend some time thinking of the ways you betray yourself...
and do what it takes to change it.

Happy Valentines Day.  I love you!  Love yourself today!!
Tell yourself in the mirror all the things you would want a
friend or lover to tell you....and BELIEVE IT!  Give yourself the
gift of loyalty....loyalty to you.

Coaching is available...check out the services page for more
info.

"I thought by going to Melissa I would get a few dieting tips, some
new recipes to try at home, maybe lose 2 or 3 pounds, and walk
away feeling pretty good about myself.  What I received from my
sessions with Melissa was so much more!  Melissa went to the root
of my "troubles" and concerns, she lead me to a place where I could
let go, forgive, and be more proactive about my dreams.  Since
Melissa, I have been dancing and performing more than ever and
feeling much more positive about my life and career.  I sought out
Melissa to lose five pounds yet, in the end, I wound up gaining so
much more than anticipated.  I have filled my life with so much
meaningful matter that craving healthy foods has come naturally and
I desire them in order to support my lifestyle.  My achieved weight
loss ended up being just an added bonus."  -CB, Dancer, NYC
