1. Thanksgiving Gracefully....
Would you love to look forward to Thanksgiving and
not have to dread gaining a few pounds or over-
stuffing yourself at the dinner table? Does anyone
actually like that feeling of being too full?
Well...It is possible to actually enjoy the food and
feel good about yourself afterwards. You just need
to prepare and make the decision to do so.
Here's The Plan
Thanksgiving is still a few days away, so you still
have time to plan your attack.
First. Think about the foods that you enjoy eating
on Thanksgiving and write them down.
Second. Think about the foods you don't enjoy
eating that much (but still somehow end up on your
plate). List them.
It Feels Sooooo Good!
Third. Think about how great your body feels when
you've eaten just enough (not too much). Note.
Fourth. Think about how awful it feels when you've
overstuffed.
Fifth. Choose what you want for the 23rd.
Sixth. Decide to eat all of your favorite foods by
filling up your plate with two or three bites worth
from each dish. There's no rule that says you have
to have a full serving.
No Deprivation Here!
There's something about this that is so satisfying.
You get to try everything....and then, when you
finish your plate, if you're still hungry, you can
pick the dishes that you liked best for seconds.
Seventh. Make yourself a plate to put in the fridge
for later, the next day perhaps. Remember, as
much as we act as though Thanksgiving is our last
chance to eat ever, it actually isn't. I promise! ;-)
Finally. What about those relatives who constantly
push food on you? I have one thing to say about
that. We are adults. We can choose what's best
for our body. They are adults too. If they cannot
handly you declining out of respect for yourself,
they have a much bigger issue they need to deal
with.
But be polite! "Mmmmmm Aunt Betsy! I'd love to
have more of your fruit cake, but can you cut me
a slice and package it up for me to take home. I'm
not eating anymore right now."
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! Treat your body well.
And write me after Thanksgiving to let me know how
it goes!

"I am constantly finding myself being amazed with
Melissa. She is non-judgmental, supportive, caring,
encouraging, compassionate, open minded, and full of
knowledge. So many times she has been my support
rock. I have had the most pleasurable experience of
working with her as both her client, and as her web
designer. She has supported me in some emotionally
difficult times such as stress when I was in school,
relationships, diet, finances, and business. She has
always listened intently and has provided me with
sound advice. I am unable to think of suitable words
to express the thanks and deep appreciation I have for
her and how she impacted my life."
