1. It's Time To Make It Happen

Good morning!

It's Tuesday. Just in case you weren't sure. :-)

Today I'm encouraging you to Seize the Day! or Seize the moment!

Have you ever had anything that you wanted to do, but you were waiting for something else to happen first?

Or rather, DO YOU have something you want to do, but you are waiting for something else to happen first?

I'm talking about something you keep saying you are going to do, but that you are not actively taking steps towards.

What Are You Waiting For?

You are just waiting for Time, Inspiration, Money, etc., and hoping that it will somehow arrive at your doorstep one day.

How long have you been waiting?

Last week a client of mine said, "I'm in my 20's, and this is a time I should feel good about my body, feel attractive, and be healthy. I don't want to remember my 20's as a time I was struggling with weight problems."

I Relate

I relate to her. I gained a lot of weight in my late teens and early 20's and I kept saying I was going to lose it, but I never stayed committed to any diet program... I spent my early 20's feeling uncomfortable in my clothes, and not even trying to flirt because I didn't believe boys would be interested in me because of my weight.

Finally I realized that this was not what I wanted my life experience to be. And I changed it. And it did make a difference in my life. I feel really great in my body, and I feel really great about finally going after other things I wanted to do but was afraid to.

This weekend another friend of mine, a filmmaker, has been waiting for the Right Idea and the Right Inspiration to get started on his next project. A certain amount of waiting and exploring is necessary, but after awhile, you just have to step forward. He said, "How long am I going to wait? I just have to grab hold of an idea and make it what I want it to be."

Time Doesn't Wait for Us

Before you know it, it will be next year. And next thing you know, you'll be 10 years older. It's amazing how time just passes us by. It doesn't wait for us. It's time to get a move on. Make great memories!

I have one space available in my Wednesday Women's Group. This is a great place to develop a plan for what you want to do, to conquer fears and insecurities, to figure out how to get around what's keeping you stuck. E-mail me for more info if you're interested.

2. 12 Week Health and Fitness Weight Loss Group

You Get:

  • Weekly Meeting with a Lesson and Group Support
  • Twice a Week - One-Hour Group Workouts in the Park with a Personal Trainer
  • One Initial Private Session with Melissa (that's me!) -
  • Plus, Two Additional Private Sessions with Melissa that you can use anytime during the three months (especially great if you go on vacation & miss a month)
  • Group E-mail Support Throughout the Week
  • Group is Limited to Six Women

Group Begins the First Week of May and Ends the Last Week of July with One Week Off. Most events will take place on the Upper West Side

Who Is This Group Right For

-If you are ready to take your weight loss goals seriously and are ready to give up fad diets
-If you do well with structure, support and accountability
-If you are not happy with the way your body looks and feels, but you know you have what it takes to achieve your goals
-If you know what to eat, but just haven't had the discipline to stick to it
-If you don't know what to eat, and would like to find out
-If you want to do this in a healthful way
-If you also want to work on the deeper issues around self-esteem and body image, not just weight loss

Classes and sessions will discuss healthy eating, portion control, effective weight loss strategies, self-esteem, body image, stress eating, emotional eating, and more!

I Am - Strategic Solutions for Women in their 20's

I love working with young women! It's a time in life where you are testing your own identity and power in this world, yet sometimes you feel conflicted by the pressure of your parents' and peers' ideas about what track you should be on. You have your own mind and you want to use it... but sometimes you're not sure about your different opinions. This program deals with self-image, self-respect, confidence, and effective decision making.

5. Summer Sublet on the UWS

SUMMER 2008: APARMENT SHARE ON WEST 81st ST / UPPER WEST SIDE

Spacious bedroom available for rent, in the heart of the Upper West Side,
July 1-Sept 1. $1200 monthly.

This is a clean, quiet room with full-size bed, workspace/desk, wi-fi, A/C.
Previous guests or renters have all been delighted, often referring to the
apt as very cozy, a sanctuary.

This is a 2-bedroom furnished apartment in a well-maintained 5-story
elevator building w/small but equipped kitchen, living room with cable.

Other bedroom occupied by very nice, quiet coach/writer (woman). The
bedrooms are on opposite ends of the apartment, so there's lots of privacy.

Neighborhood is great. Safe, 2 blocks from subway, Central and Riverside
Parks, restaurants, movie theaters, bookstores.
