1. Seasonal Produce

Why Is It Important To Eat In Season?

What could be better than eating a fruit or vegetable when
it is at its most nutritious, most flavorful, and most
affordable?

That's what you will get when you eat seasonally.  All of
these attributes are maximized when your produce is also
grown locally.  Visiting farmer's markets will help you to find
locally grown produce as well as support local small 
businesses.

When you don't eat food that is local and in season, your
produce has likely been shipped from a distance and lost
nutrients along the way.  That fruit or vegetable was also
probably picked prematurely...affecting flavor as well as
nutrient content.

Don't Know What Produce Is In Season?

Most people, however, know little about what food is in
season when, unless we're talking about strawberries or
squash.  Some of you still may be staring at this article
thinking..."squash?"  But that's okay.  That's why you are
subscribed to this newsletter.

So if you want to get the most nutrients and flavor for the
best prices this fall...here's what to look for in September
and October.

This was a great success last year and I'm looking forward
to doing it again.  This will be at 7pm, October 19th.
Pre-registration is required and I am not charging for this
event, but a hat will be passed for a donation.

, I am a dancer, an athlete, and I’m running
around New York City all day long, so I need to eat a lot to sustain
the physical energy I expend.  But many times I found myself
starved for something when I felt stressed, nervous, or anxious.  I
